Background:

Regional Select:

We’re pleased to credit our importer’s Regional Select program as the foundation for this particular coffee. Their program was created to spotlight the distinctive flavor signatures shaped by microclimates. Elements like wind patterns, soil quality, sunlight exposure, elevation, and similar environmental variables that explain why Northern Colombian coffee tastes different from Southern Colombian, or why Colombian and Kenyan coffees each express terroir‑driven character. They source blends scoring 84–87 points on a 100‑point cupping scale, offering regional or microregional traceability without tying lots to specific farms or producers.

For our Peru Regional Select, we rely on the importer’s expert selection from high‑elevation regions growing prized varieties like Typica, Bourbon, Caturra (and Catimor in some lots), sourced through cooperatives, many of which use organic practices. Their program targets the 84‑87 cupping range, ensuring consistent, and terroir driven flavor profiles. As a result, these coffees typically deliver softer, sweeter, and well‑balanced cups, with layered notes of cocoa, lemon, toffee, caramel, almond, and delicate fruits such as plum or sweet cherry—reflecting both regional character and dependable cup quality.
